What you see and hear

Four Oslo experiences, six private formats

Akershus opens the city story with royal power and harbour views; Karl Johans gate strings monarchy, parliament, cathedral and university into one readable walk. That spine is in every version.

MUNCH sits beside the Opera and works naturally as a walking day. Fram lies across the water on Bygdøy: take the ferry from 14 March to 31 December 2026, or use the private-car version year-round. The car versions also make room for Holmenkollen and Vigeland Park.

Whichever you choose, it's one guide, your pace, and a route confirmed around your ship or hotel before you land.

  • MUNCH is downtown, so the walking format spends its four hours on Oslo rather than in traffic.
  • Want more ground covered on wheels? The Oslo private bike tour rides the city highlights in three hours.
  • The Bygdøy ferry turns the journey to Fram into part of the day; in 2026 it runs from 14 March to 31 December. The car option is direct and year-round.
  • Every museum format includes its named entrance.
  • Cruise starts, hotel pickups and the return time are confirmed with the selected transport format.

Program

Tour overview

Each format opens into its own route — one toggle per version, inclusions listed inside.

Heart of Oslo Walking Tour — 3 hours

Lace up and let Norway's compact capital unfold one street at a time. You begin at Akershus Fortress — 700 years of stone standing guard over the harbour, its ramparts still keeping watch as they did in the Middle Ages.

From here you reach Oslo City Hall, the very place where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded each December. You take it in from the outside, twin brick towers rising over the waterfront, while your guide tells the stories behind the façade — the culture, the history, the quiet pride that shape this country.

Then climb the sloping marble roof of the Opera House, rising from the water like drifting ice. At the top, the city splits in two: the fjord glinting on one side, the buzz of Karl Johans gate on the other. This is the photograph you came for.

Follow the avenue through the heart of the city — past the University, the National Theatre and the Parliament, all the way to the gates of the Royal Palace.

When the tour draws to a close, the day is yours: linger downtown with your included transport day ticket, or let your guide walk you back to your ship or hotel.

Included: private guide; tram/bus day ticket. No admissions — this version stays outdoors.

Availability: runs year-round.

Fram Museum - walking + ferry or private car (4 hours)

Begin with Oslo City Hall, the harbour and the royal-and-civic centre. From 14 March to 31 December 2026, the walking format continues by ferry to Bygdøy for the Fram Museum. The year-round car format adds a driver and direct transport, with time for Holmenkollen and Vigeland Park before Fram.

Walking included: private guide, Bygdøy ferry and Fram entrance; no private vehicle.

Car included: private guide, private car and driver, and Fram entrance.

MUNCH Museum - walking or private car (4 hours)

Read central Oslo on foot through Akershus, City Hall and the Opera waterfront before entering MUNCH. The car format keeps the museum and central route, then uses the driver to add Holmenkollen and Vigeland Park.

Walking included: private guide and MUNCH entrance; no vehicle.

Car included: private guide, private car and driver, and MUNCH entrance.

Grand Oslo City Tour with Tastings — 6 hours

The capital end to end, with a private guide, a driver, and a stop for the food that defines it.

Start on the ramparts of Akershus Fortress, the 13th-century stronghold and former royal residence above the water. Walk the city's grand spine, Karl Johans gate, past the 19th-century Royal Palace and its 54-acre Palace Park — the green lung at the heart of the capital — the 17th-century Oslo Cathedral and the grand old university buildings.

Then a taste of the real Oslo: Mathallen, the city's indoor food hall, where Norwegian food culture is on full display and a round of local specialties and beer is included — sampled where the locals actually eat.

Beyond the old centre, the tour opens up. Vigeland Park — the largest sculpture park on earth devoted to a single artist, Gustav Vigeland, whose granite and bronze figures fill the grounds. Out on the Bygdoy peninsula, the open-air Folk Museum keeps a stave church built more than 800 years ago. And at the Fram Museum, you board what was once the strongest wooden ship in the world and step into the age of Norwegian polar exploration — into the tales of the explorers who sailed her towards the coldest, most dangerous places on the planet.

Included: private guide and driver; Folk Museum and Fram Museum admissions; food and beer samples at Mathallen.

Availability: runs year-round.
